All-Staff Picnic

This annual summertime celebration recognizes the contributions of UCLA staff in a relaxed social setting. The event is typically held in Dickson Court between 11:30 AM - 1:30 P.M., and includes a picnic lunch, ice cream novelties, music and dancing. Attendees are welcomed by the UCLA Chancellor and the UCLA Staff Assembly President.  Complimentary tickets for the picnic lunch are available at various campus locations a few weeks prior to the event date. The UCLA All-Staff Picnic is sponsored jointly by the Chancellor's Office and the UCLA Staff Assembly.

2009 Picnic Update:

After serious consideration, Staff Assembly has decided to cancel this year’s All-Staff Picnic, strictly as a cost-cutting measure. This was a difficult decision, made in consultation with Chancellor Block, who knows, as we do, how much the picnic means to many of you.

Since it began in 2004, the picnic has become such a lively, festive event and a highlight of the summer that has grown steadily over the years. The 2007 picnic was where Acting Chancellor Abrams literally passed the baton to Chancellor Block, who had just arrived from the University of Virginia.

Chancellor Block joins us in assuring you that we will bring the picnic back just as soon as our budget permits. In the meantime, please know that your talent, dedication and expertise are deeply appreciated, and even more so in times like these when we must work together to steer our great University through a resource crisis. We are encouraging schools and departments to take advantage of every opportunity to acknowledge the value of the staff’s dedication and commitment to the mission of the University.
